There is nothing else constant in this world but change. Same is true to the world of search engine optimization. This field in IT industry is dynamic as the tidal waves that crash to the shore every moment. The competition for visibility in search engine results is hot as flowing lava due to those dynamic changes. Why am I saying this? It is because I just feel the need to point out that search engine algorithms change from time to time.

Algorithms are complex mathematical formulas that search engines use in calculating what words a particular web page should be rank for and where it should appear in the rankings. If unscrupulous webmasters know the algorithms a particular search engine currently uses, then, it will be easier for their sites to rank high in the results when in the first place they are not worthy of that privilege. Their site might be offering tour packages but it might rank high on results searched by a person looking for the latest sporting item. Hence, algorithms hold a fundamental role in the world of search engine optimization. It determines which keywords are the most timely and productive to use.

From time to time, whenever results turn irrelevant to a search, algorithms are changed in order to provide what net surfers really wants to find. No one dares to have far-off search engine results, right? For this reason, major search engines like Google continually reconfigure their algorithms to better serve the need of every net shoppers and surfers in this world. It is only a matter of being content-wise and relevant on the part of the competing websites to keep pace with these changes. Whatever the next algorithms are is beyond the webmasters and link builders to know. They just have to be creative and imaginative in anticipating those. And, they should never forget the content of their sites because that’s the bottom line of everything amidst the changes happening around.

What makes the Philippines a viable option for offshore outsourcing? Perhaps, this can be best answered by the increasing numbers of foreign companies who chooses to contract with Philippine IT solution providers to develop their sites, create graphic designs, review bulks of legal documents, and any other thinkable service which can be left handled to the Filipino work force. But to make things a bit more firm and certain, outsourcing in the Philippines booms in a steadfast manner because of crucial factors that stems from the uniqueness and brilliance of Filipinos. Here are some defining factors which able the country to continually gain ground, and perhaps serve as tickets for it to outbid its competitors in outsourcing.

Language Advantage. U.S has been one of the leading countries whose companies prefer to outsource their operations. Luckily for Filipinos, Philippines had more shared culture with the U.S. among Asian countries. This is not just in terms of legal system or the admiration of western mentality, but primarily because of a more fundamental and basic connection, that is, when it comes to language. When compared with other outsourcing destinations in Asia, Philippines has a pool of workers who are more proficient in the command of the English language. Not just that, when interpreting legal documents from the U.S., Filipinos are better skilled in doing this because the educational and the legal system are heavily anchored in the said language. Hence, there is this instant understanding of the solution provider towards the culture of the foreign client. So, it can make the transaction progresses in a fluent manner, and the outputs be accomplished in a way that is sensitive to the character of the one who is being served. The Philippines is the third largest English-speaking country in the world, so it’s not surprising to use this as an advantage over other competing countries in the dynamic world of outsourcing.

Trained and Skilled labor force. Government has been continually supporting the outsourcing sector by keeping a steady supply of talented workers through education and training. Service businesses which includes outsourcing is easier to set up and support than capital-intensive manufacturing businesses, and it can even generate more white collar jobs than the latter. Hence, fresh graduate students with degree holders can be best utilized under the IT and outsourcing industry. The cheaper labor wage compared to the increasing salaries of those who came from other outsourcing countries like India, even further the advantage of contracting with Filipino providers.

These factors are just few of the many reasons why outsourcing continually flourishes in the Philippines. Though there still a lot to mention, still, those are enough to provide hints as to why it will always be an advantage to work with Filipino service providers. Filipinos had been globally known in quite innumerable fields like sports, arts, entrepreneurship, engineering, designing, among others. And, it seems like adding outsourcing in the list would be a greater pride not just to the country itself but primarily to the work force who persistently sustains it.

Outsourcing has been regarded as one of the flourishing industries in the Philippines. It provides opportunities to thousand of Filipinos, especially to fresh college graduates, and has contributed to the growth of the country’s economy. The outsourcing industry shows a considerable amount of good performance to make it possibly as one of the nation’s leading industries at some point. However, such possibility might remain as such if the industry can’t overcome the present issues that are thrown against it. So what are these issues?

From a solid rock combination of political and economic perspective, outsourcing has been viewed as an exemplification of how developed nations exploit the resources of the developing ones. Most offshore companies engage in outsourcing in order to cut costs. If they outsource their operations and activities, they actually save costs because of the despicable labor wage in developing countries. Along this line, who are at the disadvantaged position? Of course, there is no need to explicitly stating the answer because it is obvious. But the thing is, the workers will not demand anything because at their present condition, they just need an employment with a salary that compromise to national standards. But if you critically think about it, Filipino outsourcing workers deserve a better working condition which is being kept in the subsurface as of the moment.

Another issue that confronts the industry is that the country is often viewed as politically unstable. The expansion of outsourcing downward south might be uneasy as there are negative advisories to this area. While it is true that only isolated areas have unstable political climate. Still, this won’t convince the foreign investors to establish business in those areas in an outright manner.

Much has been said about the issues that plagued the Philippine Outsourcing Industry in an article that is brief as this. Though there are still so many to point out, still, those are enough for one to think whether the industry is confident enough to face these challenges or not. Whatever the outcome or possible development, that is something for everyone to speculate as for the mean time.
