Being new to the IT world, I always find myself confused with the terms and processes that are present in such field. Though my task is more on blogging, still, it is inevitable for me to be familiar and understand, as deep as I can, to the nature and the core concepts that are fundamental to the IT industry. It leads me to question what’s the reason for the establishment of the said Industry? Who’s responsible for it? And how does it affect the global social and commercial landscape?

With a bit of a research, I came to find the following answers to satisfy my own inquiry and might as well yours. I won’t promise that these answers will absolutely clear all the doubts about the origin of the IT world, rather I just opt to give the readers some hint and key ideas that will be informative to a questioning mind.

The development of the IT Industry is almost exactly synonymous with the development and popularity of the internet or the information superhighway. It was not until 1983 that internet came into being and became subject to regulation in the early 90s. The campaign for investing on the internet was not easy. As one of its proponents in the US, AL Gore actually experience difficulties in convincing the people in general or the business sector to believe on the possibilities and opportunities that an information superhighway can give. It started way back in the 70s, but conservative politicians are being skeptical to the usefulness of the internet. After lots of campaigns and heated debates against the skeptics, the Gore Bill was approved in the U.S. legislation and legitimizes the said system that is now getting popular throughout the world.

With the rise of the internet, all sorts of human affairs rises up to a higher level; a level that is more efficient, effective, and impressive. Social networking sites grow very popular as the years gone by, even commerce via the net seems unstoppable to anticipate. Hence, the way humans deal with each other in all fields seems revolutionized most especially in doing business. The IT industry offers a lot of things in improving the sales and performance of companies. IT outsourcing, search engine optimization, name it and they have it all. All for the cause of improving the access of clients to products and services and as well presenting the things that a company can offer. Isn’t this wonderful? This ideas and concepts may be unknown decades ago, but they now holds importance in this world where complexity and sophistication is the name of the game. And the IT industry can help someone with that.
